On the 77th Anniversary of Martyrs’ Day, a merit-sharing ceremony for the leaders who sacrificed their lives for the country was held at the meeting room of the Yangon City Hall yesterday morning.
All those present on the occasion first took the Five Precepts from State Sangha Maha Nayaka Committee Chairman Aggamaha Pandita Agga Maha Saddhammajotikadhaja Thanlyan Min kyaung Monastery Sayadaw Dr Bhaddanta Candima Bhivamsa and listened to Metta Sutta recited by members of the Sangha.
Guests then offered a day meal and donated offerings to members of the Sangha. They heard the sermon from Minkyaung Monastery Sayadaw Dr Bhaddanta Candima Bhivamsa, followed by sharing merit to the martyrs. — MNA/KZL
