The Myanmar Embassy to Japan and the International Friendship Exchange Council (FEC) cohosted the Myanmar-Japan Business Forum at the Myanmar embassy in Tokyo on Friday, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs reported.
The forum’s objectives were to educate Japanese businesspeople about Myanmar’s economic policies and procedures, foster bilateral business activities, highlight business opportunities in Myanmar, attract investments, address challenges faced by Japanese businesses in Myanmar, and enhance cooperation between the embassy and Japanese entrepreneurs.
Mr Masaya Tochio, Chairman of FEC Japan-ASEAN Cultural and Economic Exchange Committee and advisor to Ajinomoto Co Inc, delivered an opening speech. Subsequently, Ambassador U Soe Han provided insights into Myanmar’s economic policies, trade and investment status, investment advantages, opportunities in Myanmar, and the State’s investor protection measures.
Additionally, Economic Attache’ Daw Thuzar Phyo discussed business practices in Myanmar, initiatives to facilitate trade and investment, and the performance of Japanese businesses in Myanmar. Following these presentations, embassy officials addressed questions from representatives of Japanese companies.
