Rainwater will be released into the Ayeyawady River with nine pumping stations in order to prevent flooding in Mandalay, according to the Water and Sanitation Department under the Mandalay City Development Committee.
During this rainy season, water flow and water level regulations have already been implemented in Thingaza Creek, Shweta Creek, Kandawgyi Lake, and Taungthaman Lake. These measures primarily aim to conserve rainwater and prevent flooding in Mandalay.
The nine pumping stations have a total capacity of releasing 217.92 million gallons of water to the river to prevent floods in the residential areas. — TWA/MKKS
