businesspeople from Laos are keen on recruiting Myanmar migrant workers, an overseas employment agent told The Global New Light of Myanmar (GNLM).
Similarly, Myanmar workers are now interested in going to Lao factories to be employed.
“We see the willingness of factory owners there to hire our people because Myanmar nationals are obedient and dutiful. The majority of them show their willingness. They are also interested in making it happen,” he said.
Laos appears to be becoming a new destination of interest for Myanmar migrant workers.
“The number of people interested in working has increased. They want to work in Laos as well as Thailand. Many people have made enquiries,” he explained.
Laos is not yet as famous as Thailand or Malaysia for overseas work, but it can become another potential destination for many interested migrant workers, he added. — Htet Oo Maung/ZN/ED
