The alms offering ceremony will be held on 20 October, marking the 145th anniversary of King Mindon’s demise, the founder of Mandalay.
The first part of the ceremony will be held at the Maha Dhammika Rama Shwegyin Taikma, receiving precepts from the Shwegyin Taikma Sayadaw, sharing merits gained, offering rice to the 65 monks, and the offering of alms.
According to the plan, the second part of the ceremony will take place at the Golden Palace of Myanansankyaw Golden Palace. It has been indicated that administering Dhamma is scheduled and the details of whether the programmes will proceed or not are to be confirmed.
The ceremonies were conducted to express gratitude to King Mindon and to allow participation of his royal relatives and friends. — TWA/KZW
