Khit Thit media spreads false news regarding military conscription

The Khit Thit media outlet is fabricating and circulating fake news claiming that around 80 people riding motorcycles were arbitrarily arrested and forcibly taken for military service on 21 April in Pyu Township, Bago Region.
Since the activation of the People’s Military Service Law by the government, subversive media outlets and terrorists opposed to community peace have been spreading false information. They aim to scare people by alleging that security forces and ward administrators are forcefully conscripting individuals and unjustly arresting innocent civilians. Additionally, they are threatening and even killing those involved in the conscription process. This misinformation campaign has already caused widespread concern among the public.
Malicious media outlets are also inventing stories about security forces conducting routine security operations in towns and villages across Bago Region. Efforts are underway to raise awareness through State-owned media channels and newspapers in order to counteract the spread of fear and panic resulting from misinformation. — MNA/TKO
