Kampaiti border trade exceeds US$2M by 22 July

The trade value at the Kampaiti border between Myanmar and China has reached over US$2 million as of 22 July in the current financial year 2023-2024, comprising exports worth $0.174 million and imports worth $0.488 million.
The Kampaiti border is expected to meet a target of $5 million in July 2024, comprising exports worth $4 million and imports worth $1 million, according to the Ministry of Commerce.
The main export items at the Kampaiti border were tissue-culture bananas, dried chillis, onions, dried mango slices, fresh areca nuts, black cardamom, various pulses, tamarind with seeds and aluminium scrap. Meanwhile, capital goods, intermediate goods, construction materials, consumer goods, fruits and fuel were imported.
The trade value at the Kampaiti border was aimed to reach $5 million in June of the 2024-2025 financial year, including exports worth $4 million and imports worth $1 million, according to the Ministry of Commerce.
The actual trade value was $21.636 million, comprising exports worth $9.847 million and imports worth $11.789 million, surpassing the trade target.
A combined team, including one-stop service agencies and departments concerned, is making efforts to ensure smooth trade flow and bolster exports. The Kampaiti border performed the third-largest trade among Myanmar-China border posts. — NN/KK
