Kampaiti border trade aims to achieve US$5 M in July

The trade value at Kampaiti border post between Myanmar and China is expected to meet a target of five million US dollar in July 2024, comprising exports worth four million dollar and imports worth one million dollar, according to the Ministry of Commerce.
The actual trade value in the first week of July was $2.96 million, comprising exports worth $0.9 million and imports worth $2.049 million, performing over 59 per cent of trade target.
The main export items at Kampaiti border were tissue-culture banana, dried chilli, onion, dried mango slice, fresh areca nut, black cardamom, various pulses, tamarind with seeds and aluminum scrap. Meanwhile, capital goods, intermediate goods, construction materials, consumer goods, fruits and fuel oil were imported.
The trade value at Kampaiti border post was aimed to reach five million dollars in June in the 2024-2025 financial year, including exports worth $4 million and imports worth one million dollar, according to the Ministry of Commerce.
The actual trade value was $15.336 million, comprising exports worth $8.46 million and imports worth $6.87 million, surpassing trade target.
A combined team including one stop service agencies and departments concerned are making efforts to ensure smooth trade flow and bolster exports. Kampaiti border checkpoint performed the third largest trade among Myanmar-China border posts. — NN/KK
