K2B+ worth of heroin, stimulant tablets seized in Kalay

The Myanmar Police Force reported the seizure of 19.8 kilogrammes of heroin and 600,000 stimulant tablets, valued at K2.19 billion, in Kalay Township, Sagaing Region.
Acting on a tip-off, a combined team comprising members of the Sagaing Region Police Force searched a six-wheel FUSO vehicle driven by Myint Zaw accompanied by Min Khant Kyaw (aka) Ko Ko on the Kalewa-Kalay road in Ward 1 of Kalewa, on 7 August.
And the combined team seized a total of 19.8 kilogrammes of heroin and 600,000 stimulant tablets, valued at K2.19 billion.
The suspects confessed that the seized drugs were carried from Shan State to Kalay, Sagaing Region. Legal action has been initiated against offenders, and an ongoing investigation is underway to apprehend other individuals involved in the case. — MNA/KZL
