Japan to recruit more than 1,100 Myanmar workers

Up to 400 Japanese companies will provide jobs for more than 1100 Myanmar workers, according to the statement issued by the Myanmar Embassy in Japan on 30 April.
According to the statement, more than 380 Myanmar male workers and 810 Myanmar female workers, totalling more than 1,100, will be recruited.
Myanmar Embassy verifies whether labour supervisory companies and factories or companies that offer jobs in Japan are officially established and re-submits its findings and remarks to the Ministry of Labour through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Myanmar Embassy has carried out verification of demand letters organized in order of date of receiving the reply from Japanese companies. The statement said about 408 demand letters were received until 19 March 2024. They would be submitted to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs after verification, the embassy said on 30 April.
According to the statement on 403 demand letters that were received until 5 March 2024, more than 400 Japanese companies would employ up to 330 Myanmar male workers and up to 940 Myanmar female workers, totalling more than 1200 Myanmar workers, it said on 12 April. — MT/ZS/ED
