Japan Classic Film Festival 2020 launched in Yangon

In commemoration of the centenary of Myanmar’s film industry, Japan Classic Film Festival 2020 was opened with a ceremony at Nay Pyi Taw Cinema in Yangon yesterday.
During the opening ceremony, people who maintained and restored a film of Japan were introduced.
Next, Japanese Ambassador Mr Maruyama Ichiro, and National Film Archive of Japan Director Mr Okajima Hisashi transferred a Japanese film to Director-General of the Information and Public Relations Department, U Ye Naing, and officials.
Afterwards, officials from the Ministry of Information, the Japanese Ambassador and diplomats, officials from the Agency for Cultural Affairs and Myanmar Motion Picture Organization, invited guests and movie lovers watched a Japanese film.
By the supervision of Japanese Embassy and Agency for Cultural Affairs, the Japan Classic Film Festival will be held for three days till 8 March.
Japanese films named My Neighbor Tororo, Godzilla, Rashomon, Tora-san, The Lovable Tramp and Tokyo Story will be shown free on 7 and 8 March.
Tickets for the films are available free of charge one hour before screening on a first-come-first-served basis.—MNA (Translated by Kyaw Zin Lin)
