The insured worker accepts allowances for her triplets babies provided by Social Security Board in Mandalay on 9 July.

An insured worker of Myanmar Honey Farm in Mandalay Region, who has taken registration at the Social Security Board branch 1 in Aungmyethazan Township, gave birth to triplets and was provided maternity leave and maternity allowance on 9 July in accordance with the 2012 Social Security Law.
“We grant the allowance of the insured woman for her pregnancy and maternity. The allowance is 50 per cent of the salary for one child, 75 per cent for twin and 100 per cent for triplets and above. The medical treatment is provided for the children until they turn one year old. The SSB branch 1 has granted over K9.5 million maternity allowances between April and June of this financial year,” said Assistance Director Daw Lwin Lwin Myint of Mandalay’s SSB office.
The insured female worker, Ma Zin Mar Latt gave birth to triplets—one girl and two boys — and so she was provided K506,880 allowance by Assistance Director Daw Lwin Lwin Myint of Mandalay’s SSB office.
The SSB arranges benefits for the insured workers, and the employers should register for the employees to ensure benefits for sickness, maternity, funeral, medical service/travel allowance and worksite injury including temporary disability and permanent disability.—Maung Aye Chan/GNLM
