Information Minister calls for quality newspapers to attract readers’ interest

Union Minister for Information Dr Pe Myint visited printing houses and editorial members of the Myanma Alinn Daily, the Mirror Daily and the Global New Light of Myanmar in Yangon yesterday.
He first arrived at the Myanma Alinn Daily on Natmauk Lane (1) in Bahan Township and heard reports on the numbers of its employees in Yangon and Nay Pyi Taw, circulations of the newspaper and delivering a verity of contents to draw the readers’ interest.
After giving suggestions on the reports, the Union Minister inspected the editorial division, the printing house and the construction of a four-storey building with four attached units for staff quarters. The information minister and party reached the Global New Light of Myanmar newspaper on Nga Htet Kyee Pagoda Road in Bahan Township to meet the editorial staff.
They proceeded to the printing factory of Printing and Publishing Department on the same road, and inspected printing process of school books, paper storage and printing and binding units of the factory.
In the afternoon, the information minister visited the Mirror Daily for the meeting with editorial team.
During the meetings with the officials and staff members of the newspapers, the Union Minister gave advice on creating quality newspapers to draw readers’ interest, content development, presenting quality cartoons, articles and news, relations with authors and other management processes. — MNA (Translated by Aung Khin)
