Seized illegal commodities in Mon State.

Supervised by the Taninthayi Region Anti-Illegal Trade Task Force, a combined team consisting of the Myeik district police chief and head of the Myeik township customs office led by the Taninthayi Region Security and Border Affairs Minister conducted inspections on 27 November.
Officials captured five kinds of goods, including 7,200 litres of palm oil worth K53.25 million without official documents in Myeik township and K13.15 million worth of clothes and consumer goods without official documents from a Mitsubishi Fuso truck (estimated value of K20 million) at the Pauktai Bridge checkpoint on Myeik-Dawei road. The action was taken under customs procedures.
Similarly, a combined team under the management of the Magway Region Anti-Illegal Trade Task Force seized 200 gallons of illegal fuel and 320 gallons of illegal crude oil worth K2.96 million from two three-wheel motorbikes (approximately K1.6 million) in Minbu township. The action was taken under the Petroleum and Petroleum Product Law.
In addition, a combined team made inspections and impounded 29,426 litres of palm oil worth K86.33 million without official documents in the Yadanahtun wholesale shop in Mawlamyine township on 28 November. The action was taken under customs procedures.
At the Mayanchaung permanent checkpoint in Mon State, officials confiscated 2,460 kilogrammes of softener worth K1.38 million that were not declared in the import declaration (ID) from a Nissan Diesel car (estimated value of K90 million) on 28 November and K10.05 million worth of palm oil, softener and cement bags without official documents on 29 November. The action was taken under customs procedures.
A total of 5.3350 tonnes of illegal timbers worth K1.58 million was also confiscated in Bago and Toungoo districts and the action was taken under the Forest Law.
Therefore, 16 arrests (at an estimated value of over K280 million) were made on three consecutive days from 27 to 29 November, according to the Illegal Trade Eradication Steering Committee. — MNA
