Illegal goods seized in various states/regions

Supervised by the Illegal Trade Eradication Steering Committee, action is being taken under the law against illicit trading across the nation.
The on-duty team managed by the Mon State Illegal Trade Eradication Special Task Force impounded a Nissan diesel truck (worth approximately K55 million), travelling from Myawady to Mawlamyine, carrying two kinds of goods worth K92.3 million, including 1,700 jerrycans of Star Oil brand vegetable oil without official documents, near Kyungon village in Kyaikmaraw township on 18 June. The action was taken under Customs procedures.
On the same day, the combined teams seized a ToyoAce light truck (estimated value of K23 million) carrying 690 gallons of illegal premium diesel worth K8,735,400 at the Yadanabon bridge (Mandalay) combined checkpoint and a Howo tractor head with a trailer (estimated value of K71 million) carrying 644 gallons of illegal premium diesel valued at K8,153,040 at the Shwegyin checkpoint. The action was taken under the Petroleum and the Petroleum Products Law.
During inspections on 18 and 19 June, the combined teams captured a Scania bus (estimated value of K25 million) heading to Yangon from Kawthoung, carrying four kinds of goods worth K13.08 million, including 432 bags of MSG from Thailand without official documents, at the Nyaungkhashay x-ray station, illegal teak weighing 3.038 tonnes, illegal hardwoods weighing 1.182 tonnes and other illegal timbers weighing 0.63 tonne in Toungoo and Pyay districts. The action was taken under Customs procedures and the Forest Law.
On 19 and 20 June, the combined team seized a Mitsubishi canter (estimated value of K55 million) carrying 17,200 bottles of LipoVitan-D from Thailand worth K13.76 million on the outskirts of Kengtung township and an unregistered Honda Fit (estimated value of K4.5 million) in Bahan township. The action was conducted under Customs procedures and the Export and Import Law.
Therefore, 14 arrests (estimated value of K370.9 million) were made on three consecutive days from 18 to 20 June, according to the committee. — MNA/MKKS
