Illegal goods seized in various states/regions

Supervised by the Illegal Trade Eradication Steering Committee, action is being taken under the law against illicit trading across the nation.
During inspections on 19 June, the on-duty teams managed by the Customs Department nabbed four vehicles (approximately K165 million) carrying 1,360 bags of Muyaw paddy (50 kilogrammes each) from China worth K168.85 million without official documents at the Mayanchaung permanent checkpoint, ten kinds of goods valued at K18.295 million including 28 boxes of Printing machine parts from China that were different from the Import Declaration (ID) from a container at the Myanmar Industrial Port, 49,729 kilogrammes of PVC coated copper wire worth K271,521,501 from India that were different from the ID from three containers at the Asia World Port Terminal container checkpoint and 20 kinds of goods valued at K116.993 million including 24 sets of Mikro machine from Malaysia without official documents from luggage at the Yangon International Airport. The action was taken under Customs procedures.
On the same day, the combined team supervised by the Yangon Region Illegal Trade Eradication Special Task Force captured two trucks (estimated value of K85 million) heading to Yangon from Mandalay, carrying two kinds of goods worth K18.26 million, including 330 kilogrammes of steel lunch box from China that were not declared in the ID at the Ywathagyi Dry Port and an unregistered Toyota Mark II (estimated value of K4 million) in South Okkalapa township. The action was taken under Customs procedures and the Export and Import Law.
On 20 June, the combined teams impounded two kinds of goods valued at K1.1 million, including smuggled Exercise bikes that were piled up by the side of the road over the Sinphyu checkpoint in Muse township and an unregistered Shihuai three-wheel motorbike (estimated value of K250,000) in Monywa township. The action was taken under Customs procedures and the Export and Import Law.
Therefore, 30 arrests (estimated value of K849 million) were made on 19 and 20 June, according to the committee. — MNA/MKKS
