Houses damaged after torrential rain in Maungtaw Township

Torrential rainfall on 11 September submerged wards and villages in Maungtaw Township, Rakhine State, and destroyed four houses.

The rain struck seven villages — Bohmuu, Wimala, Ywarthitkay, Aungmyay Bohdi, Waythali, Kanpyin Thasi, Ywathayar, and Thihoaye — in Maungtaw Township. It caused severe damage to 24 houses and destroyed four houses.
A team comprising officials from the district and township fire services departments, the township Red Cross Society, and officials inspected the flooded areas, and shifted flood victims to temporary shelters. — Thet Lwin Soe (IPRD)
