Heavy weapon attack in Madaya Township sparks tragedy amid allegations of misinformation spread by DVB

Two local residents lost their lives, and six individuals, including children, sustained wounds in Madaya Township, Mandalay Region, on the evening of 15 January due to heavy weapon attacks from the Tatmadaw without provocation.
It has been noted that the malicious media outlet DVB is spreading misinformation on social networking sites.
When questioned about the accuracy of the incident, a security official in the relevant area explained that on 15 January, while Tatmadaw columns were engaged in area security duties near Ohngon village in Madaya Township, PDF terrorist groups committed an attack from a distance using heavy weapons. This led to explosions in the nearby Ohngon village, resulting in wounds to some local innocent civilians.
