Hanthawady, Yangon seal victories in top-tier MNL fixtures

In the ongoing 2024-2025 Myanmar National League season fixtures, the third match day for the fixture-8 saw top-of-the-table teams: Hanthawady United and Yangon United securing wins.
At the Thuwanna Youth Training Centre, Hanthawady United defeated ISPE FC with a score of 3-1. Hanthawady secured the win after trailing initially, maintaining pressure on the current champions Shan United and Yangon United.
Hanthawady United fielded a team with many experienced players, while ISPE also lined up their key players. Despite Saw Sae Kapaw Sae scoring for ISPE in the 23rd minute, Hanthawady equalized with a goal from Yan Naing Aung just six minutes later, leaving the score tied at 1-1 at halftime. In the second half, Hanthawady intensified its game, scoring additional goals at 48 and 63 minutes. Yan Naing Aung received the Player of the Match award. After this game, Hanthawady United has 19 points in eight games, while ISPE has nine points from the same number of games.
At the Yangon United Sport Complex, Yangon United defeated Ayeyawady United with a 4-1 score line. Yangon United followed up their strong performance to secure the win. Thiha scored the opening goal for Ayeyawady in the 15th minute, but Yangon United’s Yan Kyaw Htwe equalized, followed by additional goals from Yan Kyaw Htwe (45+2 minute) and Yan Naing Oo at 66 minute and Thayar Win Htet (90+4 minute). Yan Naing Oo was named the Player of the Match. After this match, Yangon United has 20 points from eight games, while Ayeyawady United has four points from the same number of fixtures.
The final game of the fixture eight will continue today with a match between Rakhine United and Shan United at the Yangon United Sport Complex. — Ko Nyi Lay/KZL
