A free training course on leather purse making, which is being planned for displaced people, has received many interests.

A leather wallet marker, Ko Thanmani from Kyaukse Township in Mandalay Region has arranged a free online course for people having difficulty with finding job after leaving their natives. He said he would deliver teaching materials if trainees can’t afford and he would teach them to be able to earn from it.

“At present, I teach a training course on making leather purse and fee is K500,000 for each item. But I wrote a post on social media that I would teach it free online, that drew a lot of people. If I accept many, that will make me inconvenient, because I don’t have experience in teaching online. So I consulted with my friends who give training course commercially online and they told me to make a group and post tutorial videos in it. I’ve started doing it,” said Ko Thanmani.

Due to a lot of inquires, he will accept further trainees in the second batch.

“It has received many interests. At present, I’ve taught 8 trainees and approximately further 70 people have contacted me. It makes me tired a bit but I’m pleased it,” he said.

He will teach his trainees to be able to make finished products, and they can pay if they can afford fee.

“If they can afford I will accept money because I need to give teaching materials to those who are unable to pay at all. I will teach it free regardless of race and religion,” he said. – Thit Taw/ZS
