Misinformation is spreading on social media, claiming that Tatmadaw and local administrative bodies collected money from flood victims under the pretext of supporting People Military Servants in Kyangin Township, Ayeyawady Region, on 31 July.
According to a relevant local administrative official, security forces, police, firefighters, and departmental staff assisted flood victims from low-lying areas of Kyangin Township, where water had entered.
They moved the victims to temporary camps, provided food, and distributed supporting materials donated by various donors and charity organizations. Therefore, subversive media outlets merely spread false claims to propagate their agenda. — MNA/TRKM
