Flood-affected villages in Tanai and Khamti: Residents evacuated and provided with food

A ceremony to distribute food aid, including rice, oil, salt, and dried noodles, to the people in villages affected by floods in Tanai Township, Kachin State, was held yesterday morning at the temporary flood relief camp in the township.
Tatmadaw officers from the Northern Command, departmental officials, flood victims, and generous donors attended the event.
First, an official delivered an opening speech. Following this, K10 million in cash, 154 bags of rice, and other food items were distributed. An official accepted these donations on behalf of the beneficiaries and expressed gratitude.
Similarly, the water level of the Chindwin River is rising due to heavy rains in the Sagaing region.
In Khamti, the water level has reached 1,535 centimetres, exceeding the town’s danger level of 1,360 centimetres by 175 centimetres.
The wards and villages are inundated, and relief efforts are underway. The flood-affected residents have been moved to temporary flood rescue camps and provided with necessary healthcare services. — MNA/TRKM
