Fishery product exports exceed US$276 mln in first 6 months this FY

According to the Department of Fisheries, more than US$ 276 million worth of fishery products have been exported abroad in the first six months of the 2023-2024 financial year.
Exports to foreign countries between April and September exceeded 175,000 tonnes. Myanmar has over 480,000 fish and shrimp breeding ponds, along with more than 120 cold storge facilities.
Annual exports were $785.021 million in the financial year 2020-2021 and $481.657 million in the 2021-2022 (Mini Budget) period. Myanmar now exports aquatic products of 45 countries each year. In the meat sector, only live animals are currently being exported to neighbouring countries through land borders. — TWA/KZW
