Fire breaks out in ambulance transporting patient

A fire broke out in an ambulance of the Social Assistance Association while it was transporting a patient from the hospital Pyapon on 28 August.
The Ayechan Phyusin Myittashin social assistance association went to help transport a patient who had been discharged from Asia Royal Hospital to Pyapon Township at around 5 am yesterday.
The ambulance stopped at the Denko filling station in Hlinethaya (East) Township to refuel after picking up the patient. The fire started when the patient’s depleted oxygen tank was being replaced outside the station, resulting in one member of the association being injured. Fortunately, the patient remained unharmed. The car was completely burned down, and the injured member was transported to Sanpya Hospital, as stated by the person in charge of the Ayechan Phyusin Myittashin social assistance association.
Two fire engines from Hlinethaya Township extinguished the fire, and the Ayechan Phyusin Myittashin social assistance association has alerted other social organizations to handle and use oxygen tanks properly to prevent such accidents. — TWA/CT
