Financial management refresher course held for technological and computer universities

The Higher Education Sector (Technological Universities and Computer Studies) Financial Management Refresher Course was held yesterday morning in Nay Pyi Taw.
At the course opening ceremony, Union Minister for Education Dr Nyunt Pe said the financial sector would be the biggest problem in the ministry if there were no skilled workers. Although people work with good intentions, they can be fired and often face dismissal if they do not comply with the financial regulations.
He also added it is necessary for civil servants to free from party politics, to coordinate the financial matters with the rectors and Pro-rectors and to effectively and efficiently spend the permitted fund in accordance with the financial regulations.
He also urged them to work together with each other unitedly to develop their universities, departments and the ministry.
Deputy Minister for Education Dr Zaw Myint added effective financial management and anti-corruption.
The training was conducted in three subjects: Planning and Budgeting, Financial Management and Financial Rules and Regulations.
The ceremony was also attended by the Deputy Ministers, the Permanent Secretary, Directors-General, Deputy Permanent Secretary, Deputy Directors-General, trainee finance officers from the computer and technological universities, promoted Management/Finance Department and relevant officials. — MNA
