The Livestock Breeding and Veterinary Department has announced that it will provide a loan of K12 billion to farmers in nine states and regions during this financial year.
Loans will be available from the State economic promotion fund starting in June for those involved in breeding four types of animals: beef cattle, dairy cattle, layers, sheep, and goats in order to foster the development of livestock industries.
The loan period, provided at a low-interest rate, is set for three years for dairy cattle breeders and two years for breeders of beef cattle, laying hens, sheep, and goats.
In the financial year 2023-2024, the State economic promotion fund lent K20 billion to breeders of three types of animals: broilers, duck, and pig from 11 states and regions, including Nay Pyi Taw. — TWA/KZL
