Families of Office of the Commander-in-Chief (Army, Navy and Air) donate Waso robes to members of the Sangha for 2024

State Administration Council Chairman Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Senior General Min Aung Hlaing and wife Daw Kyu Kyu Hla present Waso robes and offerings to Chairman Sayadaw Dr Bhaddanta Candima Bhivamsa yesterday.

Chairman of the State Administration Council Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Senior General Min Aung Hlaing and his wife Daw Kyu Kyu Hla offered Waso robes, alms and day meals to members of the Sangha at the Waso robe-offering ceremony of families of the Office of the Commander-in-Chief (Army, Navy and Air) for 2024 at Anawrahta Hall of the Office of the Commander-in-Chief (Army) yesterday morning.
The Senior General paid homage to the Buddha image in Anawrahta Hall and offered alms in the emerald alms bowl, fruits, flowers, water and oil lights.
The Senior General and wife together with the congregation took the Nine Precepts from the Chairman of State Sangha Maha Nayaka Committee Presiding Patron of Thanlyin Minkyaung Pahtamapyan Buddhism Learning Centre Aggamaha Pandita Aggamaha Saddhammajotikadhaja Dr Bhaddanta Candima Bhivamsa. Members of the Sangha recited Metta Sutta.
The Senior General and wife donated Waso robes and alms to the Chairman Sayadaw.
The SAC Vice-Chairman Deputy Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Commander-in-Chief (Army) Vice-Senior General Soe Win offered Waso robes and alms to SSMNC Secretary Mandalay Masoeyein Taikthit Presiding Patron Dhamma Thameikdi Monastery Sayadaw Aggamaha Pandita Aggamaha Saddhammajotikadhaja Maha Dhammakathika Bahujanahitadhara Bhaddanta Vasettha Bhivamsa.
Attendees and their wives donated Waso robes and alms to members of the Sangha.
The Secretary Sayadaw delivered a sermon, and the congregation shared the merits gained.
Also present at the ceremony were Ovadacariya Sayadaws of the Uppatasanti Pagoda, Chief of the General Staff (Army, Navy and Air) General Maung Maung Aye and his wife, the Commander-in-Chief (Navy) and his wife, the Commander-in-Chief (Air) and his wife, Union-level dignitaries and their wives, senior military officers from the Office of the Commander-in-Chief and their wives, and officials.
After the ceremony, the Senior General and his wife, the Vice-Senior General and his wife, and senior Tatmadaw officers offered day meals to members of the Sangha. — MNA/TTA
