False reports of security inspections circulate on social media

Misleading information is circulating on social media, alleging that security forces conducted inspections and arrested around 40 passengers travelling on the Mandalay-Monywa road near Legyi village in Sagaing Township, Sagaing Region, for interrogation.
Additionally, it is claimed that similar actions took place at near Monywa University of Economics at approximately 3 pm yesterday.
However, an official from the security forces clarified that there were no inspections conducted by security forces in Legyi village, Sagaing Township, Sagaing Region. The regular security check-up procedures were carried out near Monywa University of Economics as part of routine measures.
These false reports, propagated by media with malicious intent, aim to sow discord, misrepresent the actions of the security forces, and create unnecessary fear among the public. — MNA/TKO
