Making sure of no humidity in this monsoon season can help racehorses healthier and stronger, an official from Myanmar Equestrian Federation suggested.

The nature of horses doesn’t like humidity, so they should be kept dry and hoof care should be provided too, according to the organization.

“Horses don’t like being wet and damp. So, in monsoon season, they need to be kept dry, in particular we have to care their hooves. If their hooves are muddy, we need to clean them. Cleaning should be made on regular basis. Their hooves always get stained because they go on the ground. If they are caught in the rain, we need to make them dry back, so that they will be healthier in monsoon,” he said.

Under the theme Prevention and Control of Heatstroke and Equine Colic, a seminar took place at Myanmar Equestrian Federation located at Dagon Myothit (North) in Yangon Region on 2 June, at 1:00pm.
