Drugs seized in Loilem, Lanmadaw townships

A combined team consisting of members of the Anti-Drug Police Force stopped and examined a Toyota Alphard driven by Naung Min Aye accompanied by Tin Maung Htun and Ma Hnin Hnin Aye on Loilem-Taunggyi Road in Loilem township at 8 pm on 26 August and captured 800,000 stimulant tablets.
After interrogating them, the police force arrested Than Naing and his wife, Ma Mya Mya Thi, who are the owners of seized drugs, together with a Toyota Kluger at the combined checkpoint in Kintha village in Tatkon township at 9:30 pm.
Similarly, the combined team examined a suspect Ma Kyi Kyi Naing at the corner of Strand Road and Lanmadaw 8 Street in 3 Ward of Lanmadaw township at 2:50 pm on 28 August and seized 0.22 kilogrammes of heroin.
The combined team continued to search an apartment hired by Ma Kyi Kyi Naing in Street 9 in Lanmadaw township at 3:20 pm on the same day and seized another 0.59 kilogrammes of heroin.
Offenders have been prosecuted under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Law. — MNA/MKKS
