Drug gang trafficking 13M+ stimulant tablets arrested in Lewe

The Myanmar Police Force stated that a gang trafficking 13.44 million stimulant tablets worth K20.16 billion was arrested in Lewe Township, Nay Pyi Taw Council Area.
A combined team comprising those from the Drug Enforcement Division seized 13.44 million stimulant tablets worth K20.16 billion from a light truck driven by Zeyar Kyaw, accompanied by Hein Kyaw Min heading to Yeni from Pyinmana at Taungsinaye checkpoint on Yangon-Mandalay highway in Lewe Township at 7 am on 25 June.
According to confession, Myat Paing Thu, Phyo Sithu Hein and Aung Aung (aka) Aung Gyi were arrested in Yamethin Township with a Nissan Box carrying stimulant tablets, Nwe Ni Thin, Ye Dwe Hlaing (aka) Bala and Myint Aung with a Toyota WILL in Pyinmana, Wai Min Phyo (aka) Ohn Ohn Khaing in Ward 1 of Shwepyitha Township.
As they trafficked stimulant tablets from Shan State to Yangon Region, an investigation is underway, and action is being taken against them under the Anti-Money Laundering Law. — MNA/TTA
