DPM MoPF UM attends MEB annual statement coordination meeting of 2023-24 FY

The opening ceremony of 2023-2024 financial year annual statement coordination meeting of Myanma Economic Bank was held in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday.
In his opening speech, Deputy Prime Minister Union Minister for Planning and Finance U Win Shein said all the bank staff should work together in unity to meet the objectives for 2024-2025 financial year by considering the actual situation of the banking services conducted in 2023-2024 financial year. Although there are 311 branches of Myanma Economic Bank, the head office, region/state offices and bank branches are working together to serve the banking services properly.
The government also provides the necessary assistance to MSME entrepreneurs and the loans are being disbursed to entrepreneurs at low interest rate using MSME fund aiming at promoting local manufacturing sector and export volume.
Moreover, the direct payments of Ywan/Kyat and Baht/Kyat is developed to facilitate the export/import payment in border trade. Moreover, the arrangements are also made to start the Rupee/Kyat direct payment for Myanmar-India border trade.
He also urged all to make efforts in implementing Core Banking system, and appreciated the bank and its staff for developing Centralized e-Pension system at 67 branches.
He then stressed the needs to communicate with the relevant departments and organizations to take action against the financial frauds via mobile payment, focus on information receive and proper communication system as the staff, financial and inventory are important according to the current situation and work well to facilitate the banking and financial services.
Myanma Economic Bank organizes the annual statement closing coordination meeting for respective financial year every year. The bank will hold the event including discussion, paper reading session and awarding the outstanding staff until 23 February. — MNA/KTZH
