Discussions held for distribution of imported oxygen to hospitals, COVID-19 treatment centres

Discussions on the distribution of imported oxygen for public hospitals and COVID-19 treatment centres in Yangon Region were held at 3 pm yesterday at the meeting hall of Yangon Region Administration Council.
Chairman U Hla Soe of the Yangon Region Administration Council first said that Tatmadaw, the Ministry of Health and Sports and Regional Administration Council should work together in order to provide timely distribution of oxygen. Donors’ support is being co-sponsored with humanitarian aid. The chairman urged officials to consult with the centres to create smoother solutions.
Then, Deputy Minister for Health and Sports Dr Aye Tun said that the current situation of COVID-19 infection is increasing day by day. Currently, COVID-19 patients are being treated at Yangon General Hospital, New Yangon General Hospital, North Okkalapa Hospital, Waibargi Hospital, Thingangyun Hospital, South Okkalapa Hospital and Hlinethaya Hospitals.
The deputy minister discussed the need to give priority to the aforementioned hospitals, Insein Hospital; Yangon East Hospital Yangon Western Hospital and Inya Center as a matter of priority and to make it easier for the people to fill their oxygen tanks.
Next, the attendees discussed plans to provide oxygen tanks to the COVID-19 Medical Center and the public.
After that, the Chairman of the Region Administration Council made concluding remarks.
In the evening, two trucks carrying 20 metric tons of Liquid Oxygen imported from abroad arrived in Yangon, officials said. —San Kyaw Oo (IPRD)/GNLM
