The arrival of visitors from other regions and states has been still on the rise in popular destinations in Kalaw which is famous among tourists, despite the monsoon.
Normally the tourist arrival is sparse in the monsoon, however, there are visitors from other regions and states in Kalaw’s popular tourist destinations such as Kalaw View Point and Hnee Paya (bamboo Buddha image).
“The tourist arrival to Kalaw is slightly low because it is monsoon. But there are still visitors and just some of them are locals and most are from other regions and states. Some come by travel companies’ tour package and some families come by their private car. Some stay here and visit Kalaw’s popular destinations such as Byike Taung, Myin Ma Hti Cave, Hnee Paya and Kalaw View Point,” said a Kalaw-based tour operator.
The visitor arrival to Kalaw mounted last summer.
“Kalaw is a popular destination in Myanmar. The tourist arrival increased in recent years compared to the past. There was a massive influx of visitors last summer, before Thingyan,” he said.
Kalaw is famous for its fine weather and beautiful sceneries.
