Customs Department seizes smuggled goods worth over K900 million in July

The Customs Department confiscated illegal items worth over K900 million in July. Smuggled goods were impounded from the Yangon International Airport, the Yangon Port, the special customs post, the Yangon General Post Office, and various customs areas.
According to the statistics of the Customs Department, the total value of seized goods in July was K9,330.126 million. The seized goods are in 431 cases of import and export without any official documents for import and export.
In June, the Customs Department made 253 arrests and seized illegal goods worth K5,927.14 million at the Yangon International Airport, the Yangon port, the special customs posts, the Yangon General Post Office, and various customs areas. — TWA/CT
