Control and response actions for COVID-19 continue at IDP camps

The Ministry of Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement, in cooperation with related departments and organizations, implemented prevention, control and response actions against COVID-19 at the IDP camps in four states from 25 to 28 April.
In Kachin State, MSWRR officials provided a total of 1,510 soap bars and 1,510 face masks, seven washbasins, seven infrared thermometers, and ten vinyl for 755 households living at IDP camps in Tanai, Karmai, Hpa-Kant, and Myitkyina townships.
In Kayin State, the officials distributed 18 washbasins and two infrared thermometers to 871 households living at Aye Lin Myat Shin IDP Camp, and Myat Pan Wutt Hmone IDP Camp in Hlaingbwe Township.
In Rakhine State, they provided a total of 10,632 soap bars and 11,754 face masks, 10 washbasins and three infrared thermometers for 10,632 households who are living at Maw Thi Nyar, Dar Paing, Ohn Taw Gyi Taung, Ohn Taw Gyi Myauk, Ohn Taw Chay, Bawdu Pha (1) and Bawdu Pha (2) IDP camps in Sittway Township.
In Shan State, a total of 92 soap bars, 184 face masks, four washbasins, and three infrared thermometers were provided for 201 households who are living at No.5 Ward Baptist Church, Nant Phat Khar No.4 Region, and Pan Ku IDP camps in Kutkai Township.
The ministry is not only continuously implementing control and response actions against COVID-19 but also organizing educative programmes, awareness activities and psychological support activities in all regions and states including Nay Pyi Taw Council Area. —MNA (Translated by Kyaw Zin Tun)
