Consumer Alert: MRF warns against scams on Facebook

After the Myanmar Rice Federation (MRF) announced direct delivery to home service for premium Pawsan rice on 25 June 2024, deceptive scams on Facebook were found impersonating MRF’s Facebook page to cheat buyers’ money.
MRF reminded the consumers to check before they make a purchase. They need to verify a Facebook Page with a blue mark. MRF’s Facebook page has 80K Followers and 65K likes. For purchase, consumers can contact MRF’s Viber numbers at 09 400067240, 09 400067250, and 09 400067260 and email [email protected]. While making payments with mobile wallets (KBZ Pay, AYA Pay, A+ Wallet), individuals need to execute payment only with a merchant account of MRF under the name of Myanmar Rice Federation (MRF) Incorporated.
MRF is making efforts to prosecute those scammers with fake Facebook pages under the existing laws. MRF is open to suggestions and enquiries as well. — NN/KK
