Confiscation of illegal items: Foodstuffs, consumer goods, industrial materials and vehicles

The combined team captured seven kinds of goods worth K105,733,091 including 20,400 litres of UHT full cream milk and 216 litres of pure full cream milk that were submitted to be abandoned by the company at the dry port (Ywathagyi) container checkpoint on 11 October. The action was taken under Customs procedures.
The combined on-duty teams made inspections on 14 October and confiscated a Toyota HiAce (approximately K20 million), headed to Hpa-an from Myawady, carrying 720 bottles of Goat Milk shampoo without official documents at the Kawkareik (Tadakyoe) combined checkpoint and two kinds of goods worth K5 million including 20 sets of Su-Yoso wireless karaoke speaker without official documents from a vehicle travelling from Tachilek to Taunggyi at the Maeyan combined checkpoint. The action was taken under Customs procedures. On 14 and 15 October, the combined teams impounded two Yutong buses (estimated value of K60 million), which were seized by police officers from Waw Township Police Station, carrying three kinds of goods worth K12.61 million including 7,500 bottles of M-150 energy drink without official documents and Dji drone worth K1 million from luggage at the Mandalay International Airport (Import Desk). The action was taken under Customs procedures. A total of 10 arrests were made on 11, 14 and 15 October, with an estimated value of K208,483,091, as reported by the Illegal Trade Eradication Steering Committee. — MNA/MKKS
