Condition of El Nino during January to February 2024 Issued at 28-12-2023

a. The Sea Surface Temperature (SST) over the Tropical Pacific Ocean near the Equator and atmosphere phenomena is strong condition. According to the Numerical Weather prediction models of the International Meteorological Agency, it is forecast cotinue to reach strong El Nino condition during January 2024. It is forecast that the El Nino condition may gradually decrease starting from February 2024.
b. Although the El Nino condition occurs in the Pacific Ocean, the effect of El Nino may cause generally extreme weather events such as irregular rainfall patterns, rising temperature, irregular storm formation and drought.
