Completed Htakha suspension bridge ready to give transport service to local people in Machanbaw Tsp

The Department of Progress of Border Areas and National Races under the Ministry of Border Affairs makes efforts to provide streamlined transportation in border areas. Construction of Htakha suspension bridge has completed by cent per cent in Machanbaw Township of Putao District in Kachin State spending Kachin State budget in the 2020-2021 financial year, according to Putao District Development Supervisory Office.
The 200 feet long Htakha cable suspension bridge, about four furlongs from Htanga Village stretching on the road, links Htanga Village and Shangadengchet Village in Machanbaw Township. The project spent K131.67 million of Kachin State budget on construction of the suspension bridge in 2020-2021 financial year.
U Zaw Zaw Tun, Deputy Director of Putao District development supervisory office, inspected progress of the bridge on 1 July together with officials from the township quality control team.
Thanks to the suspension bridge, a total of 841 local people from eight villages involved in Htanga, Dengchet, Makyanga and Dengbudengsa village-tracts of Machanbaw Township will have the chance to enjoy fruitful results of transportation, education, health and socio-economic growth in their respective areas. Moreover, the facility is of great importance as it is located in the route leading to Khaunglanphu Township, according to the locals.—District IPRD (Putao)/GNLM
