China-Myanmar Cooperation Symposium on Metrology held in Yangon

The China-Myanmar Cooperation Symposium on Metrology in progress yesterday in Yangon.

Union Minister for Science and Technology Dr Myo Thein Kyaw addressed the opening ceremony of the China-Myanmar Cooperation Symposium on Metrology in Yangon yesterday.
The symposium was jointly organized by the Department of Research and Innovation, the National Standards and Quality Department and the National Institute of Metrology (Myanmar).
At the event, the Myanmar delegates discussed the standardization of national-level infrastructure and the National Institute of Metrology (Myanmar), and the Chinese experts focused on the Myanmar-China bilateral research, Dimensional Metrology and Temperature Metrology.
Then, the entrepreneurs and stakeholders presented the requirements of measurement for industrial production and discussed effective measures for manufacturing industries through metrological activities.
The Union minister then headed to the University of Computer Studies (Yangon) with the relevant officials. On arrival at the university, he stressed the need to be an international standard research-based university and to ensure safe learning at the university, research being conducted with international organizations, capacity-building training for faculties, management sectors, image of the university and greening activities.
They then observed the Robotics Programming Knowledge Sharing Seminar jointly held by the Electronics and Telecommunications Research Institute(ERTI) of Korea and inspected the university campus. — MNA/KTZH
