Chief of General Staff (Army, Navy, Air) attends 97th Anniversary of People’s Liberation Army of China in Yangon

General Maung Maung Aye, Chief of the General Staff (Army, Navy, and Air) and member of the State Administration Council, along with his wife, attended the ceremony marking the 97th anniversary of the Founding of the People’s Liberation Army of China held at Novotel Max Hotel in Yangon yesterday evening.
Chargé d’affaires ai of the Chinese Embassy to Myanmar, Ms Cao Jing, Chinese Military Attaché to Myanmar, Senior Colonel Zheng Zijie, and other officials welcomed General Maung Maung Aye and his party.
The ceremony commenced with the national anthems of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar and the People’s Republic of China. Senior Colonel Zheng Zijie delivered a greeting speech.
Following this, General Maung Maung Aye, his wife, the Chargé d’affaires ai of the Chinese Embassy, and the Chinese Military Attaché cut the celebratory cake together.
The Chargé d’affaires ai of the Chinese Embassy and the Chinese Military Attaché then hosted dinner in honour of the attendees and guests.
Among those present were senior Tatmadaw officers from the Office of the Commander-in-Chief, Yangon Region Chief Minister U Soe Thein, the Yangon Command commander, members of the Yangon Region government, ambassadors, chargés d’affaires ai from various embassies in Yangon, military attachés, and other invitees. — MNA/TMT
