Bayintnaung-Sein Pan Myaing 66 kV underground cable stolen

The Yangon Electricity Supply Corporation released a statement that one of the cables of Bayintnaung-Sein Pan Myaing 66KV underground cables was stolen.
A fault occurred in Bayintnaung-Sein Pan Myaing 66 kV electrical cable at 4:22 am on 9 March and the power cuts occurred in Hline, Mayangon and Kamayut townships.
According to the investigation, one of the 66 kV underground cables near Thaminechaung in Bayintnaung street of Hline Township was stolen and the outage occurred due to the cable fault.
The power was supplied temporarily by 230KV Thakayta power plant with the feeders of 66KV RIR sub-station, 33 kV Mya Kantha sub-station and 33 kV Taw Win substation feeder as it is in the time of matriculation examination period and maintenance works were being conducted in a timely manner, it said.
The YESC urged the public to protect the materials and inform relevant township power stations if they find the insurgents to prevent cable thefts that cause power cuts. – TWA/KTZH
