Bagan Plastic Campaign leads weekly garbage collection drive along Bagan-NyaungU Road

A weekly programme for collecting plastic garbage was conducted along the Bagan-NyaungU road on 17 February.
The initiative was led by the Bagan Plastic Campaign, with participation from staff of the Department of Archaeology and National Museum (Bagan branch), the township development committee, balloon companies, hotels, motels, and guest houses in NyaungU Township, as well as members of the local tour guides’ association, restaurant owners’ association, and hoteliers association (Bagan Zone).
The participants gathered plastic waste at Shweleiktoo Pagoda, Htilominlo Pagoda, Upali ordination hall, Ananda Temple, and along the NyaungU-Bagan road. U Saw Tun Win, Chairman of the NyaungU District Administration Body, and U Nan Tint, Chairman of the Township Administration Body, together with other members, encouraged the participants during the cleanup efforts. — Dipa Linn/KZL
