Authorities meet with healthcare staff at Loikaw Hospital

A ceremony to meet healthcare workers of the Department of Public Health and Medical Services of Kayah State returning to the workplaces was held at the Kayah State General Hospital (500-bed) yesterday.
Kayah State Chief Minister U Zaw Myo Tin delivered an opening remark, saying that the Kayah State General Hospital was temporarily closed due to sabotage committed by the insurgents and terrorists. Now, the hospital returns to providing healthcare services due to the cooperation of the Kayah State government and the healthcare workers. The Kayah State government acknowledged the active involvement of the healthcare workers in the development and rehabilitation projects of Kayah State. The chief minister urged the healthcare workers and personnel to provide healthcare services at full capacity so as to be the reliable hospital by the public. He also encouraged the health workers to submit the difficulties to the Kayah State government since the authorities are fulfilling necessities for the development of the health sector.
Acting Head of State Public Health Department Medical Superintendent of Kayah State General Hospital Dr Sithu explained the performances and preparations of the hospital and the forward plans.
Then, the Kayah State chief minister and authorities provided the financial aid and foods to the health workers and the patients.
The chief minister and authorities also cordially conversed with patients at the outpatient ward, visited relevant departments in the hospital and inspected the machine capacity of the oxygen plant to re-operate it as quickly as possible. — Kayah State IPRD/TMT
