Local battalions under the Western Command, along with officials, have taken the initiative to sell essential foodstuffs at reduced prices, contributing convenience to residents and departmental staff affected by Cyclone Mocha in Sittway. This effort aims to ensure that individuals have access to food at fair and affordable prices during these challenging times.
A wide range of foodstuffs, including rice, edible oil, salt, meat, fish, eggs, dairy products, vegetables, onions, garlic, as well as products from Tatmadaw factories and MEC such as instant noodles, biscuits, and canned food, were available for purchase at lower prices compared to the prevailing market rates. Additionally, electronic devices and construction materials from private entrepreneurs were also offered at discounted prices at U Ottama Park in Sittway.
Locals and families of departmental staff expressed their gratitude for being able to buy essential foodstuffs at affordable prices during this difficult period. They appreciated the efforts of the officials in providing relief and support through the provision of necessary goods. — MNA/KZW
