AFF U-16 Championship: Myanmar to play Vietnam today

Team Myanmar will take on the Vietnam squad in the Group B match of the ASEAN Football Federation U-16 Championship in Indonesia today. The match Myanmar versus Vietnam will begin at 2:30 pm Myanmar Standard Time while another Group B match Cambodia versus Brunei will start at the same time.
After Day 2, Vietnam and Cambodia collected four points, while Myanmar bagged three points. Still, Brunei seized no point. Among the three teams hoping to advance to the next round, Cambodia will play against weaker Brunei. Team Cambodia has the best chance to advance to the next stage and they need to score more goals for the top place. Myanmar and Vietnam can hope for first place in the group only if the Cambodian team slips.
According to the format of the tournament, the top three teams from the three groups and the best team from the second place will advance to the semifinals. Even if team Myanmar get the second place in the group, it is not certain that they will reach the semifinals. — Ko Nyi Lay/KZL
