Myanmar’s U-16 boys’ team will take on the Cambodia team in the ASEAN Football Confederation (AFC) U-16 Championship in Indonesia.
Team Myanmar is placed in Group B. The Myanmar versus Cambodia match will begin at 7:00 pm Myanmar Standard Time, while Viet Nam will face Brunei at 2:30 pm Myanmar Standard Time.
A pre-press conference for the teams from Group B was held yesterday, joined by respective head coaches.
“We started building this team in February and have trained well. Ready for the race. The opponents in the group are good teams, so it’s a good opportunity for us. We will play our best in every match and try to reach the semi-finals and the final,” said Myanmar head coach Mitami.
Likewise, Cambodia head coach Inour Kazunori said, “It is a tough group because we are in the same group as good teams. Not every match is easy. We will try our best to produce a good result and advance to the next level”.
A total of 12 teams participated in the championship, as four teams were divided into three groups.
Group A showcases Indonesia, Laos, Singapore and the Philippines, while Group B sees Myanmar, Vietnam, Cambodia and Brunei. Group C comprises Thailand, Malaysia, Timor-Leste and Australia. — Ko Nyi Lay/KZL
