NSPNC, NCA signatories, and political parties’ working group meet on general election

A tripartite meeting involving the National Solidarity and Peacemaking Negotiation Committee (NSPNC), representatives from NCA-signatory ethnic armed organizations (EAOs), and the political parties’ working group took place at the National Solidarity and Peacemaking Centre in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday afternoon.
The meeting was chaired by NSPNC Chairman Lt-Gen Tun Tun Naung, with participants including NSPNC members, representatives of NCA signatories, representatives from the political parties’ working group, officials, and others.
Opening remarks were made by Lt-Gen Tun Tun Naung, Arakan Liberation Party (ALP) Chair Saw Mra Raza Lin, representing NCA-signatory ethnic armed organizations (EAOs), and Dr Aye Maung, Chairman of the Arakan Front Party, representing the political parties’ working group.
Lt-Gen Min Naing, NSPNC Secretary, provided an overview of the agenda for the meeting. Discussions focused on election-related issues and prioritizing peace and stability to hold a successful election. Participants exchanged views on the necessity of cooperation in holding elections in ethnically armed regions.
The meeting concluded with Lt-Gen Tun Tun Naung expressing gratitude to all attendees and a group photo marking the event. — MNA/TS
