Myanmar athlete departs for Paris 2024 Paralympic Games

Athlete Maung Soe Pay from the Myanmar Paralympic Sports Federation, manager U Min Naing Oo and coach Dr Htet Zeya departed Yangon International Airport yesterday afternoon to compete in the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games, which will be held in Paris from 28 August to 8 September 2024.
They were seen off by Maj-Gen Hla Moe, President of the Myanmar Paralympic Sports Federation, along with the head of staff, executives, and representatives from the Department of Sports and Physical Education.
In the games, Maung Soe Pay will compete in the men’s 100-metre and 200-metre events in the T64 classification (below the knee).
Over the past four years, Maung Soe Pay has won a total of nine medals in international competitions, including three golds, one silver, and five bronze. As a result of his achievements, he has been invited by the World Paralympic Federation to participate in this summer’s Paralympic Games. — Akar Lin/TKO
